February is anything but boring; tree-stripping storms, bright pale skies, blanching frosts, dense foggy mornings – you name it and in the past 3 weeks, we have experienced it. My poor garden began to blossom in Jan. and then, 15º temp + wind.
- In response to a comment: Lonely? How interesting. Actually, the opposite. I’m making places I would like to walk. Attracted to windswept hills, walking through landscapes, seeing outrigger presence of civilizations past – posts, trees, stones, dwellings, farms. Not much interested in the modern. For me, these places are spaces to think, to hear God, to see stars, to smell grasses, to feel the earth and sky. The opposite of lonely. Quite.
- “Rain, Presently” a new monotype, just finished yesterday – finally! I thought to call it many other things having to do with solitude, peace, water, columns, presence. But, after dodging between showers to take photos of the work – a ritual around here – the event became the name. Ink on paper, 18″ x 24″.
